What to Gift When Gifting--Cerer-ified
You’ve perused our website and come up empty. Nothing added to cart, nothing you felt resonated with the individual in mind you are gifting. Allow us to help you. Not only will we be gifting our dearest loved ones Cerer, we have spent the past several months discussing with one another which item will give that extra umph to our mom and best friends’ closets. Feel free to comment the people in your life we did not target.
What I am giving my mom:
I often struggle with gifting my mom, not because I don’t think she has exquisite taste, because she does. But because I want to gift her that slight indulgence she would not get for herself, but a reasonable enough purchase she would thoughtlessly integrate within her ensemble. So I’ve selected the Four Corner sweater by the Endery. My mom does not like an elastic waistband at the hips, always opting for a free flowing top that does not squeeze the mid section. With narrower shoulders, and a loose flare in the body of the sweater, my mom will feel comfortable wearing this. And of course, the print. She isn’t one for outrageous patterns, or color schemes (perhaps she outgrew that after the finale of the 80s). She gravitates toward organic and minimalistic prints. What I like about the four corners is that it is a unique design, but so simple. It doesn’t need more than blue jeans to create a look and can even be worn with sweats in the age of quarantine. My mom fluctuates between a M/L on top so I chose the L to ensure the oversized comfy aesthetic this sweater promises.
What I am giving my best friend:
From a personal standpoint, I take gifting VERY seriously. I want my choices to dazzle the recipient and accept nothing less than delight when unwrapping. I think the Jade dress in black will successfully accomplish that desired outcome. The age of the house dress is upon us. While many are shifting towards cottage-core, I like how our rendition on the nap dress assumes a more modern and luxurious take. Its satin shouts luxury but the shapelessness eases comfort. It’s the kind of dress you’d look like a starlet in walking around barefoot on a Friday evening.
What I am giving my sister:
Five words: Tommy High Rise Straight Leg. This is the jean of 2021. I can’t decide if the wash or the fit is my favorite part. The wash is that magical blue you frustratingly seek after that all the Instagram icons say they haplessly thrifted (yet when you show up to Crossroads you’re met with some stained denim). The waist hits right at the belly button, complimenting her plethora of crop tops, and stops at the ankle. I’m gifting this because it’s the kind of jean I want to see my sister in.
What I am giving my significant other’s mom:
Ah, the most frightening of endeavors. It always feels like whatever you give is always wrong. We’re trying to change that narrative with the Everywhere Scarf by The Endery. First off, it’s one size. So you can check the awkward sizing debacle off of the list. Secondly, it is an artisanally crafted beautiful scarf. It’s thoughtful and no matter where her winter may be, she will surely put to use this delicate and cozy accessory.
